According to studies, more than 50% of Americans aged 18 or over have tried marijuana in one form or another. Not only this, the majority of people that have tried it still use it today.
But, one of the most popular ways of consuming the plant is by smoking it. And, to do so, you need to learn how to roll the perfect blunt.
Here’s a 5 step guide on how to roll a blunt.
How to Roll a Blunt in 5 Simple Steps
Before you can start rolling, you need to get your equipment ready. To roll the perfect blunt, you’ll need:
- Your favorite strain of cannabis
- A wrap
- A lighter or match
Using a grinder may be a good idea if you’re new to rolling. So, here it goes…
1. Break down
Break down your weed by breaking it down into shake and removing seeds and stems. This is where the grinder may come in handy.
For those of you who are new to rolling, using a grinder will give you an even and faster burn. But, if you want a slow burn, use your hands.
2. Prepare Your Blunt Wrap
For this stage, you can either buy a blunt wrap or a cigar or cigarillo.
If you choose a blunt wrap, you can skip to the next step. If you prefer using a cigar or cigarillo, cut it lengthwise with a blade or your fingers.
Then, empty the tobacco and keep it for later if you like smoking spliffs. Also, don’t forget to wet your wrap with saliva or water. It’ll make it easier to shape and seal.
3. Fill Your Wrap
Now, it’s time to fill your wrap. Sprinkle the cannabis into your blunt wrap or cigar until it’s full but not too tight to close.
If you’re new to rolling, go for 1 to 2 grams of cannabis in a cigarillo wrap. If you’re smoking with friends or are using a blunt wrap, you can squeeze in more.
4. Roll the Wrap
Once you’ve packed your wrap, roll it to distribute the weed throughout your blunt. Then, smooth out any wrinkles.
If your wrap wasn’t wet enough it may crack. Don’t worry though; you can use the adhesive from rolling paper to fill them.
5. Dry and Seal Your Blunt
Drying, or baking, a blunt is when you seal it by running a lighter underneath the seam. The key to getting this right is not to put the lighter too close. If you do, you may burn a hole in your blunt.
When your blunt is ready, all that’s left is to sit back, spark up, and unwind.
